Kristi Earley is shown accepting a donation from Shortline Alumni Association
Corresponding Secretary Christine Cunningham Mitchell.
The Shortline Alumni Association recently donated $400 to VHS Teacher
Kristi Earley to help in purchasing a new Howard Foil Printer for the
students in her Special Needs classes. For the past several years,
Kristi and her students have been utilizing an old Kingsley printer
that was donated to them to print on napkins for special events like
banquets, weddings, parties and showers. Ms. Earley used the funds from
those projects to take her students on class trips, to maintain a stock
of general school supplies, and to purchase graduation or prom items
for those who needed help in preparing for those two important events.
Along with money from the VHS equipment fund, a donation from the
Academic Boosters and from existing funds in her "Special Needs
Students Fund", Ms. Earley was able to purchase a new $1000 printer
that can print on napkins, pencils, stationary, Christmas cards and
silk ribbon. Since her fund is now depleted, Ms. Earley and her
students need orders to help build back up their funds. Call Ms. Earley
at 304-889-3151 for pricing. They have dies in several different fonts
and images that will coordinate with most holidays and special events.
The funds donated by the Shortline Alumni Association were from
different fund-raising events that they have held over the past year -
similar to the current fund-raising raffle for a 2007 Harley-Davidson
1200cc Sportster that is currently being held. Contact any Alumni
Association officer to purchase a ticket.
